Welcome to the DIREC LabThe Distributed Intelligent Robotics Estimation & Control (DIREC) lab houses the current robotics research at Abdullah Gül University (AGU), Kayseri, Turkey. We are interested in the design, test, and analysis of ground and aerial robotic platforms and algorithm designs. Currently, our motivation is to understand the swarm behaviors seen in animals and implement robust and resilient algorithms on robots to demonstrate swarm autonomy. We aim at designing and testing distributed perception, decision, and execution algorithms that can be applied to multi-robot systems for a variety of real-life scenarios such as search-and-rescue, aerial monitoring, precision agriculture, and entertainment. Particularly, we focus on cases where the robots have limited onboard sensing capabilities as in exploration in GPS-denied environments by robot swarms. We exploit heterogeneity in the sensing and motion capabilities of the robots for integrated frameworks. Our research is fully funded by the Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK) under the 2232 International Fellowship for Outstanding Researchers Program. Open PositionsWe invite applications for fully funded PhD and Postdoc Fellowships. |
